i have been watching motor racing since i was about 13. my dad is a very keen fan and i followed suite. when i went to the Le Mans 24 hour race in 2003 i spoke to a member of the Bentley team and asked him about the car, drivers and what his job role was within the team. i have also been told i have vast knowledge of formula 1 and endurance racing.

so when it was suggested to be i should start a web site with my own thoughts and musings on the subject i took the idea with both hands and tried. I’m finding that being original is quite difficult. i have a lot of ideas I’m just finding it hard to get them all in to the blog site as i want them to look.

i will keep trying.

as soon as i have something im happy with i will post a link here. please keep watching :D

Over this last week i have been taking part in an online racing spectacular! :) Motorsport as some of you may know is a perticular passion of mine and i love to race in online games aswell. The game played is rFactor, this is by far the best racing simualtion game i have come accross thus far. Live for Speed is very close however it does not feature real cars or real tracks.

www.rfactorcentral.com (a dedicated rfactor webite) is the home of the ‘Modding’ comunity for rfactor and on a regular basis they organise 7-10 day events which, for a small fee entises the racing sprit!

This perticular compertition was to set the fastest lap around the belgian track of Spa in a Formula Nippon (Japaneese F1 style cars) . there were 5 classes all broken down so making a small improventment could result in a 5 or 6 place jump. in total 160 drivers took part and set their time. throughout the week i did my best to improve on my time however i couldnt get it lower than a 2:02.6. the only time i did was classed as an illigal lap and that time was dissallowed. although it did cost me money  (73p!) it was fantastic fun and i highly recomend it to any one who want to race online and feel an imerssion in racing. i for 1 could never afford to go racing proffesionally  myself but this is a happy altertive. :D

i didn’t really want this blog to become ‘dear diary – today i did this’ , which is why i have been a little bit crap at posting new stuff here. However there have been a few things going on in these last few day i would like to share with you.

Mainly I’m still doing overtime at work and as such should be able to save my money next month. i have had to buy 2 new tyres for my car and that was only £160 !!!! :(  anyway i really want to tell you about Monday night.

I went to the O2 arena (Mellinium Dome for the oldies of us out there), i went to see one of my favorite bands Metallicaimage004

every Metallica gig is different, they have such an amazing song repertoire that they change the set list per event. this is what i saw:

That Was Just Your Life
The End of the Line
Creeping Death
Holier Than Thou
One
Broken, Beat & Scarred
Cyanide
Sad But True
Turn the Page
All Nightmare Long

Kirk Solo #1

The Day That Never Comes
Master Of Puppets
Damage, Inc.
Kirk Solo #2
Nothing Else Matters
Enter Sandman
Too Late Too Late
Phantom Lord
Seek and Destroy

This is fantastic, if you go to Metallicas web site a click on live performances you can buy the set you have seen on Cd’s. :D

It was the first time i have been in to the Dome in 9 years. also there was a bonus to this trip, my mum works in Canary Wharf so i met her for coffee and was allowed up to see the view from her office on the 23rd floor. this is what i saw:

Supporting Metallica were The Sword and Machinehead. these are two great bands however i was more impressed with the headliners. i wanted a spectacle and boy did we get some!:) the show starting with Lasers and at selected songs produced Fire and Flame from the stage. with a grand finale of 3 encores and  black Metallica balloon’s from the sky raining down upon the crowd.  this is the best gig i have ever been too, it was an amazing experience and I’m so glad i went. if we can’t enjoy ourselves in times of economic crises i do not know what the world is coming to.

I appolgise for the rather poor quallity fo the pics and vids. they were taken on my phone and i was a little way from the stage.  i will let the pictures tell the story of that fantastic night.

…..this is a place where Dragons only exsit if you belive in them……

How very true this statement is. I personally belive that if you think about a problem and worry about that problem, then it will become  more of an issue. I also think that if you have a goal you should achive it at all costs. Have a long term plan and if that means sacrifes in the short term then so be it.

Sometimes you need a really good arguement with someone to get it off your chest. Tonight i argued with my farther, i told him what i thought. Basicly he accepted that what ever he thought, the problem wasnt going to solve itself no matter how much he wanted it to. Will he remember the convasation? maybe… will we have a similar arguement in a month or so’s time? proberbly.

Problems can solve themselfs however thinking can help and hinder.

Hopefully more one than the other.

Recently it has been the 50th aniversery of Buddy Hollys death. And whilst my father was watching a tribute program he suggested a question which made the little grey cells of my brain wake up.

Dad: What if he hadnt died?

Me: Well, what if?

Dad: Would Lennon and Mcnartney be as famous as they are?, would The Stones bring in the crowds in the same way?

From my perspective, (being of a younger generation) The Stones and The Beatles are not really my taste. However the same could be said about Nivarna. What if Kirk Cobain hadnt died. We certanly wouldn’t  have Foo Fighters, what if Mettalica’s bass player hadnt been killed when their tour bus crashed? Metal music as we know it might have changed forever. And of course i can not leave out the devil himself Ozzy Osbourne. There was one point in his career when he attacked his wife(whilst off his face Drunk)  and out of the goodness of her heart and love for her husbend she decided not to press charges. (opinions may divide on the reason for that one) again i ask what if? Ozzy might have gone to prison and this might have affected metal in the 90’s and 00’s. Black Sabeth wouldnt have been able to do a reunion tour. System of a Down, Korn, Disturbed, HIM, Linkin Park, Atreyu, Papa Roach, Velvet Revolver, Avenged Sevenfold, and Slipknot.

All these bands would have been effected as Ozzy has had a hand in promoting them.

From a non musical point of view i would like to apply this to a couple of other things if you will induge me.

Ayton Senna, one of the greatest racing drivers the world has ever seen, in 1994 died at the wheel of his F1 car.  If he had lived he would have most likely gone on to win countless more world championships. Michel Schumacher would have had a much harder time in his career altogether. David Coulthard (replacing Senna at Williams after his death) wouldn’t have got a break in a would championship winning team, and Damon Hill might never had been a world champion at all!

If you cast your mind back to a couple of years ago you may remember Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond had a huge crash whilst testing a land speed record car for the programme. Top Gear is one of the BBC’s most sucessful shows. So again i ask what if Hammond had died? Clarkson would be out of a job(again) and James May would most likly still be travaling the country with Oz Clark drinking themself in to an even earlier grave.

ok….i think i have gone far enough?!

I suspose what im saying is grab every opertunity you can. I have plans for this yaer with so meny varibles you would not belive. One small thing could make everything im working for go the way of the pear. However i do have a very british way of solving this problem…… i have a cup of tea.

Now i have this i am able to look in to my crazy world and work everything out, try to plan for the future and realise all i can really do is hope, and do my best.

hell, no one is going to do it for me
