Today i did…..

i didn’t really want this blog to become ‘dear diary – today i did this’ , which is why i have been a little bit crap at posting new stuff here. However there have been a few things going on in these last few day i would like to share with you.

Mainly I’m still doing overtime at work and as such should be able to save my money next month. i have had to buy 2 new tyres for my car and that was only £160 !!!! anyway i really want to tell you about Monday night.

I went to the O2 arena (Mellinium Dome for the oldies of us out there), i went to see one of my favorite bands Metallica

every Metallica gig is different, they have such an amazing song repertoire that they change the set list per event. this is what i saw:

This is fantastic, if you go to Metallicas web site a click on live performances you can buy the set you have seen on Cd’s.

It was the first time i have been in to the Dome in 9 years. also there was a bonus to this trip, my mum works in Canary Wharf so i met her for coffee and was allowed up to see the view from her office on the 23rd floor. this is what i saw:

Supporting Metallica were The Sword and Machinehead. these are two great bands however i was more impressed with the headliners. i wanted a spectacle and boy did we get some!:) the show starting with Lasers and at selected songs produced Fire and Flame from the stage. with a grand finale of 3 encores and black Metallica balloon’s from the sky raining down upon the crowd. this is the best gig i have ever been too, it was an amazing experience and I’m so glad i went. if we can’t enjoy ourselves in times of economic crises i do not know what the world is coming to.

I appolgise for the rather poor quallity fo the pics and vids. they were taken on my phone and i was a little way from the stage. i will let the pictures tell the story of that fantastic night.
